what to do about a possible stuck wastegate?

do i gotta pull the turbo off? pull it apart? whats up, i gotta fix this boost issue, don't wanna blow my newly rebuilt motor the first time i really get on it

what makes you think the wastegate is sticking ? to test the wastegate just apply 5psi of pressure to the nipple on the actuator and verify that the actuator rod moves. the fsm says 10psi i think but the actuator should open at 5, do not exceed 14psi.

if you read his other thread, he has said he's seen up to 22psi! There definately is something wrong with the wastegate. You will need to take off the turbo to fix the wastegate. It's not too difficult though. There was a good write up on teamfc3s.org with pictures and everything. Do a search over there for it.

i know how to take the turbo off, i took the whole motor apart... i was just hoping there was a way to do it without that lol

Well push the rod by itself and see if it will even move. Without the actuator rod connected the flapper should open freely.

If it's not opving then you'l have to atleast take the exhaust off and get at the exhaust side to take a look at it. If it's sticking thn port the waste gate justa little bigger than the flapper. That will help with boost creep as well.
