What diffference can an exhaust leak makse
Hey guys, a few days ago. My mechanic and my friend discovered a few big leaks in my exhaust system. First off there was a hole on the pipe before the pre cat to the exhaust manifold, but I dont think that is a through hole since no air came out from there when we tested it. The other one came from the gasket between the cat and the pre cat. Do these annoying and smelly leaks effect the performance of my car. I am just wondering because it feels like something isn't running right at the top end. I can feel the car is like releasing air somewhere, it just dont feel normal. I already have a Bonez cat on the way here. SO I will get the leak fixed in a week or 2, but i am just wondering. What do you guys think

It will affect your low end power depending on how big the leak is. I have a broken stud on the turbo so theres a large leak between the turbo and downpipe, plus a large leak between the downpipe and hollow cat, and just two days ago the bottom of my hollow cat basically fell apart.
My low end is gone (although I do make full boost by 2,700rpm), but the funny thing is, boost will come on at 7psi, and up until the cat went, it held 7psi all the way up. But now it drops to 5.
In any case, get those sealed up and you'll get a bit of low end back plus you wont have to smell those emissions from inside the car
