What car should I buy....?
Car #1
10th AE RX-7. Mint condition. Showroom look. Owned by current owners father for the last 7 years. He bought it from the original owner in 1995. Well maintained. ONLY thing wrong with it is the cracked leather seats (that's a givin anyway). Beautiful car. Only 1,500 made. $4,000 firm. I don't have the money and would have to get a loan also.
Car #2
1987 RX-7 TII. 140,000 miles. Stock besides cone filter. Maintained. Guy has owned it 6 months and that's all I know. White w/ grey interior. All power options including sunroof. Says the body is perfect and the paint is good. No flaws in the interior at all. $1,500 (might be able to get it a little bit lower). I have this money on hand and can buy it tomorrow.
Is it worth it for me to spend all that extra money on having a rarer car? I mean a badge, wheels, wing, seats that would come out anyway, and bragging rights to an 10th AE. The AE is worth closer to what is being asked than the 87. I could probably do a couple upgrades like suspension to the AE and sell it for a ton. But I don't think I'd be able to sell it.

I would say get the AE if you are up to the task of full restoration and keep it nice and stock, it will make a great collector car. If you want to make a hual *** car runing 10psi and have tons of mod, definately get the 87, be ready for a new engine tho if it doesn't already have one, also how many miles are on the AE?

What Subscription?
If you are going to mod it get the 87. If you want a nice piece of history, get the AE. But please, don't by the A/E and strip it of the goodies that make it an A/E

I want history/rare car and a fast one!
I would NOT strip the goodies. I'd have much love for that car. I might get different wheels.
But I do plan on building a killer motor. Pineapple motor. Probably end up seeing a front mount too. A body kit would only be put on the 87 though. Would not kit up an AE.
By the way. I can get AE wheels here in town too. So those are not even that big of deal. I could still them on the 87 if I wanted.

140k on a T2 = new engine You're asking for it with that, so that's another $1000 or so with installation, $2,500 for a 87 T2 or $4,000 for a 10AE. I don't know about you, but I'd go for the 10AE

It'll get a motor anyway you look at it, that's the least of my worries. After I sell my Probe I plan on having a motor fully built.
Still runs strong after 140,000 miles he says. I guess I'll see tomorrow. But I plan on racing it the rest of the season, so yeah... I'll probably kill it.

If I were you I'd get the 10AE becuz there's only been one owner and it was his father! You know that puppy was babied! You can always throw in some upgrades to the engine if you want it to go faster. That 87 sounds like its gonna need some help soon. Save yourself some trouble and get the 10AE. (I wish I can!)
