What can i get for 5 grand
Hey, I'm new to the forums, and was wondering, what i could get for 5 grand. Could i get a good condition non-turbo, or a bad condition turbo. Which would be better? Thanks for the help.

For 5 grand, I would get a good condition either. Why would you even consider spending that much on a bad anything? What is wrong with your thinking? Go buy something besides a rotary, cause if your willing to spend 5 grand on crap, I don't want your problems here.
Think again about what you've said, and try again.

See, your revised info has gotten you leads. Bravo, good luck, and sorry for being so harsh, just want the best for all of these cars. And by the way, where in the bay area are you? Im in Vallejo, and just curious. If you want, pm me and I'll give you help, as stupid and new I am, to these masterpieces.

Seeing that you are only 15, you should get a nice n/a to start out with and get used to the rx7. That's what I did and they are still fun cars. You don't need to go and mod your car a lot if you don't even have your license yet. Get used to driving and then do some stuff to your car.

Indeed. 5 grand can get you a good condition N/A and plenty of parts to work with. wich IMHO is as good as anything with the RX-7's. I bought my 88 base for $800 and its got a few problems but ill have a nearly new Fc in my hands after I put 10 grand into it.....its just a matter of finding the cheap but good car and putting yoru hard earned money to work for you.

Lets see.....I paid less than 3K for my near mint 90 GXL......paid $750 for an S4 NA that had Corbeau seats, RB header, RB silencer, and a **** load of other goodies. Blew that motor, got a TII motor, rebuilt, ECU and harness for $1850, and have since added a shitload of goodies for less than $500. So, for around 5K, I guess you can get alot (not counting my luck with the parts car). But seriously, I have less in my S5 with TII swap than most do in a POS with a ghetto swap.

You should get a good condition NA and put the rest in mods. No offence, but you are too young for a turbo. I got a Mustang GT when I was 15 and almost died in a car wreck a year later from drining too fast. Also, its better to start out with an na to get a feel for the car.
