What;s good compression on a 89-91 TII?

I went for a ride in a friend's '87 TII with 52K and his car is definitely faster than mine and he's got 3" DP, presilencer, intake, stock catback, fcd, 9# flywheel. We have similar mods as I have intake 2.5" DP, hi-flo cat, catback and 9# flywheel. He says he's not boosting over 8psi on his guage.

My car's got 110k on chassis and 70K on a new dealer replaced engine and the car just won't pull as hard - (I'm not running FCD as I don't hit fuel cut)it feels like he's got 30 more HP. I also have 2 subs 2 amps in the back adding about 70lbs w/install material, I'm guessing.

Is my turbo tired? I'm also going to look at my compression but I don't know what it should be when I take it to get looked at.

If it's of any use, a few months ago I would see blue smoke in my rearview in between shifts - it would let out a puff out of each muffler but it doesn't do it anymore.

Thanks for any help/ideas....

There are lots of modded domestics in our area and there are about 3-4 of us building up our FC's - eventually Haltech, etc.

i was told that anything above 95 psi should be fine...

i think mazda measures is in Kg/cm3 or something like that. in that case maybe anything above 7kg/cm3 (not sure if the cm part is right)

I bet he's running over 8 psi. what gauge is he using? you can't read the stock one if he has an FCD. it'll never go over 8.

Autometer. It feels like he's boosting 10 but says it has yet to exceed 8psi on that guage.
