Talking Wewt! One month after bill of sale, and my '90 GX is back!

Jesus, what a long month. Okay, to the beginning! (Cole's Notes for the lazy :P: )

Bought it on the 18th of August from a dealership in Burnaby, after seeing it advertised on buysell.com. Good price, good mileage, good carfax/ICBC reports, figured it was a good buy. Drive it home after getting the price dropped 150 for alignment, a nice sweet ride. Oh, guess what... They refused to fill the tank before I left the lot, and 5 miles from them I run outta gas. Get a jerry can, fill up at the next station. But anyways... I'm at home, getting ready for work in 15 minutes. Get in the car, idle it for about 3 minutes and pull out to the corner. Step on the gas... and no power. Ahhh ****, maybe not enough gas? No. Rear rotor's dead, 0 compression all around. Get it towed back to them, they're saying it's my fault for running it too hard (5k max, sigh). Dad gets on the phone to BBB and Consumer Services, they phone the dealership, and suddenly I'm getting a FULL REBUILD. Woot!

Fast forward 2 weeks. Car's done and ready to go out, great. Pick it up, drive it for 3 days (under 3.5k for the rebuild). I get out of school and turn the key, and NO gauges work. Well ****. Meter fuse is gone. Use the spare, turn the key, it's gone AGAIN. FAAK!! Alright, I've driven enough cars to hear the diff between 3k and 4k, so I'm safe for today. Take it to the shop, they say it's a short in the car's interior. BS, I've changed nothing. They take it back A WEEK LATER and look at the engine bay. HOLY ****! The ******* mechanic pinched the main cable running to the interior, ELECTRICAL FIRE! They send it to the electrician, he does the wiring harness. I pick it up TODAY and get in, expecting a bill for it. On the wheel, a note saying "Mechanic paid for it. ALL wiring redone. No charge." Woohoo!

Cole's Notes: Bought a '90 GX N/A from a dealership, engine popped after 5 miles. Full rebuild, no charge. Got back from the mechanic, he pinched the main cable to the interior, electrical fire in engine bay, ALL wiring replaced, no charge.

Woo... I'm lucky that I have a great dad, and that the Consumer Services is so damned strong here in BC. Hehe.

Okay, only thing that I need to get fixed is the idle. The mechanic that did the filter/oil after the 1000k forgot to change it, so now i'm idling around 2k all the time. Can I do this myself, or should I just go harass the guy?
