Well I replaced the Blinker CPU and blinkers still no worky

Well I posted a loooooooong time ago before my rotary blew when my blinkers stopped working. The dash board blinker lights light up and stay lit, the blinkers dont actually light up nor do they blink.

I checked the bulbs and wire connections. Then I was told by the forum to replace the blinker CPU, that little black box by the fuse panel. Still nothing! Whats next?

I did get the blinker CPU from the Junk yard for $3 but what are the chances that both CPU'd had the same exact problem?

Thanks guys.

I'd say that the chances that a second CPU having the same problem is probably 50/50.

I get core CPUs all the time from wreckers, and people parting out FC'd and FDs and I'd say only about 35% of them work perfect with no problems.

I do have rebulilt flasher boards available so that you can just fix the turn signals if everything else on the CPU is fine. You can confirm this by using the Hazard switch.

does the Hazard lights work??? They use the same circuit in the CPU as the turn signals. If they work, but the turn signals do not then the problem can also be in the turn signal switch (although that is very rare unless you have a vert with air bags).

clicking fast indicates burnt out bulbs or disconnected wiring

Be sure to check your blinker fluid. Only use DOT-4 certified fluid.
