Well, i guess I'll have to change my usrname auto>manual complete: My impressions
First of all, did you know that S5 RX-7s are fast? Seriously, I did not know that up until now! Or would it be more appropriate to say that I couldn't tell it. ![rlaugh](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/rollinglaugh.gif)
I just got my car back from Compact Cars in naples, a rotary shop out there on the Gulf Coast side of FL. The swap would have been completed in one day, but a wrong part supplied to CC left the project unfinished until late Today.
The first thing I am noticing is that my fuel needle moves a lot less frequently, and I can actually get any amount of acceleration that I need in my day to day activities, rather than slamming the pedal and hoping to God that i will launch fast enough.
It is like having some kind of second throttle, power delivery is any way I want it to be when I want tit o be.....almost.![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I ended up paying $1050 for the whole thing, including warrantied transmission, labor, new ACT six puck clutch with HD pressure plate, all clutch hydraulics, all other related hardware, and even a snazzy leather shift know, and boot. My father gave me the money, so I was not hesistant to spend it when my daily driver finally gave up its transmission half way to Naples to have it replaced.
It's been a bitch learning to drive manual again, especially with this clutch, but my car is finally a solid piece. i can drive anywhere with confidence.![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I will begin work on a modified NA4EL to see exactly what the transmission is capable of when programmed, built, and controlled properly with quality components, but that will be a long term project that i will be undertaking on my own on the side.
I think I am going to go for another drive now. got to break in that bad boy clutch.

Change that name, and if you are ever near Crystal Beach, give me a holla, and I'll go for a cruise with ya.
How about RoninRowTheGears?
Has a nice ring to it...

If its an ACT, its unsprung. A real bitch.
I liked mine at first, but now I just wish I had gotten a sprung hub.

ACT actually does make a sprung hub unit. It is very progressive for a cltcuh that is supposed to be as agressive as this one.
I love it. I am breaking in the clutch right now. can't wait until it is done.
