Thumbs down Well, this car sounds like a real winner

The 89 T2 I'm going to look at Thursday that is. Dad just got off the phone with the seller. He has all these parts, but , it needs a new:

1. Turbo (spews oil all over).
2. Brakes are siezed. (he doesn't have these)
3. Apparently, as it sounds, the entire body needs to be swaped. (I guess he has all the body parts for it)

Sounds like a pretty big job, huh? The kicker is, its the only turbo second gen around these parts that I've found, and he wants $4000 for it, and his ad said "firm".

Opinions?
Rick

if your in ontario canada, same as i am.

Do not buy that car for 4000.

Or i wouldn't atleast.

Turbo will cost you around 200cdn to replace with a used unit, at a good price.

Not sure what part of the brakes u'll need, but 4 piston tii front calipers sell for 100ish a pair.

And body work costs alot, depending whether it was hit, or just rusty, sounds bad.

I would wait for another car, you could find a MUCCCCH better off car if your patient, and spend a little bit more $$.

$2000 Canadian sounds about right, shame it is not an s4 since I have two turbos collecting dust. I think I have a set of 4 piston front calipers. If you pick it up PM me and maybe I can give you a good deal on the calipers. Try posting in the Canadian Section and others maybe able to help you out with other parts.

**** off man. I'm from quebec and just go on Trader.ca, there is an unknown amount of used FCs up there!!!! These TII are much easier to find in Ontario than in Quebec!

I'm glad mine was a steal!

seriously just search a bit deeper and you'll find many great deals!

Autotrader.com. Pick unlimited mileage and look at all the turbos. The good ones are for 4K.

well I do admit that most quebec'ers are lazy asses, but not me

I still love you plague! dont worry! :P

BTW, I simply said that I was from quebec to clarify the point that FCs are much easier to find in Ontario than in quebec. So please, dont flame my province!
