Weirdest thing. My aftermarket gauges are out of whack
Today i thought that i would tackle the e-fan mod on my t2(i love a nice clean engine bay). I installed it no problems and had it set to keep me around 190 degrees. Well i have a oil pressure gauge, water temp, oil temp, volts and a boost gauge. i watch my temp and oil pressure closely. well today on my way to work my oil pressure dropped to 50 psi at 3k. and my temps on the highway were 210 when its 50 degrees outside and im traveling 80 mph. well just wishful thinking i stopped at a napa and bought more oil to add when i was barely under full, and i adjustedthe fan to come on a little sooner. well things didnt improve. after work (1 am) i start the car and it has 70 psi of oil pressure, and no temp cuz i just started it. after about 10 mins of idling it was holding steady at 40 psi and 175 degrees. on the way home on the highway the temp gauge stayed at 210 the oil pressure was bouncing all over the place. 20-40-30-40-50. Now my stock gauge held steady at 60psi. I know its not the best to go off of but the stocker wasnt dropping or moving more than it normally does. and whats funnier is when i hit the brake the temp shoots up from 175 to 210 and the oil temp does the same. when i hit the brake the oil pressure drops when normally it oil drops when i push the clutch in .
Im about to buy a mechanical guage from a tool store and get a accurate ready because its hard to trust the stocker or my aftermarket at this point. What kills me is that i allready replaced the front cover o-ring and tightened the front cover oil pressure control valve. and i really dont want to do it again. anyone ever have anything like this ???

Yeah until you have hot oil leaking all over the interior of the car, coolant, possibly fuel with a fuel press. gauge, sure the mechanical are much easier to install, but alot more dangerous.

Well i cleaned all the grounds and sanded up the main one on the strut tower. And to Ted's advice. everything is working 100 percent again, so far. my oil pressure is back to 60-70 psi and the gauges arent bouncing all over. so i guess in this aspect he is right,, thanks . I think once i would have changed my battery cables and what not this problem would have been solved , but only after i pulled the front cover again. so Thanks Ted. Ill post again if things go back to normal.
