weird idle

i just got my car running with a rebuilt engine. it starts up idling at almost 1500 rpms
then after maybe 10 minutes or so it will be normal at around 700 can anyone tell me what may be wrong

thats normal, but normally doesnt take 10 minutes to warm up

the accelerated warm up system...is your car s4 or s5? na or turbo? that would help as well.

mines an s5 turbo, what kind of ecu do you have? i have an apexi and it does the same thing in cold weather. it's the warm up cycle, or so i'm told. nothing to really worry about. but if you want to change it, you got to reprogram your ecu not too
