weight reduction
what would be the best and cheapest for a weight reduction. should i go for carbonfiber parts or should i rip out the carpet or what

My car has been on a bigtime diet for the last week.
Removed:
P/S
A/C (and all components)
sound deadening material (keeping carpet though)
Front and rear bumper supports
Sub zero fluid container
Cruise control and components
Ypipe and mufflers (not too loud w/ the cats still on)
Spare tire
Jack
Front and rear toe hooks
a bunch of other odds'n'ends
Just look at anything in your car and say "do i really need that" if they answer is no then get it out of there.

carbon fiber is a waste of money unless you have torn out a lot of stuff or don't want to tear out anything and want to keep the interior "luxuries"

theres a rubber pad over the fuel pump that weighs about 10lbs
i removed my abs and that was about 20lbs total, lot more room to play with my turbo too
im going to go single sided exhaust, but need to find one that isnt super loud (read: corksport)
and no emissions of course.
dont forget lightweight flywheel 10lbs reciprocating mass.
and i need to replace my boat anchor s4 turbo wheels.
ive been thinking about removing ac and ps, but kinda want to keep power steering

ac you can take out for free, same with ps if you don't put in a manual rack, i picked my manual rack up for only 80 dollars. each system weighs around 40-50 lbs. never have a full tank of gas.

I'm not sure that I agree that is the best course, partially because you're making a pretty big sacrifice by ditching the carpet. For example, all of the hard tar in the hatch weighs 5lbs.
This topic has been discussed a lot. I've give you a list of how my car is lighter than some stockers:
No AC (all parts), PS (mine didn't come with), ABS ('87s didn't have it), cruise control (control module, dash switch, engine bay peice), air pump, ACV silencer, ACV, lighter rims - I'm guessing at least 8lbs per corner x 4 = 24lbs, tires, single exhaust, hatch tar, air filter -> cone, cold start assist, TB mod, stock radio -> aftermarket /w stock amps removed.

i am legendary
This is what I've done.
PS
AC
All emissions
Charcoal Canister
Cruise control and ECU for it
AAS and computer for it, and panel
All sound deadening mats/pads
3/4 sound deadening material
Jack/Spare/Etc
Power antenna/motor/antenna cable
Washer fluid bottles
TB mod parts
6pi system
Lightweight flywheel
Front tow hooks (kept rears for towing)
No bumper foam/padding
And more stuff I think, I can't remember everything off the top of my head.

i think most s4 turbo iis did not come with ABS. mine did.
I only know a couple people with ABS on a s4. you should feel lucky you dont have it.
ive been told all s5's have abs though, or maybe that was s5 turbos? dont remember. all s5 somethings have ABS, haha
