IN HOPES

I am currently in Afghanistan, but am leaving in 11 days or so. I have A LOT of parts to put on my FC before i dare to show her. She is ruff at the moment. I should have enough time to get this thing done when I get home. I basically want it ready to take the road course. She isnt drag ready yet, but the new suspension is begging to be tried. In any event, i still have a few questions about this thing.

How many cars registered last year?? I only see like 64 so far.

How much is hotel stay? I mean its not too big of a deal, but I need to know ahead of time, especially if Im gonna drive 700 miles to make this thing. It would be kinda nice to be the only person representing upstate NY though.

I would like to know how much I should plan to spend for the show, not including registration fees....

Thanks for the help in advance...

Chris

Chris,

Last year the event had 95 rotary vehicles in attendance. We are still 84 days out from the event, and have more than double the number of people that were registered at this time last year. Our expected figures put us in the 200+ vehicle range for this year's event. We also have plenty of news left in the pipeline to announce that should generate even more excitement about this year's Revolution.

Currently it is $45 to attend the event with your car. This will get you three meals, seminars, and all the drag racing/autocrossing your body can handle. The road course $200, Dyno $65 (no a/f) / $75 (with a/f), and $250 if you want Steve Kan to tune your vehicle.

ON FEBRUARY 29th, ALL OF THESE PRICES GO UP.

There are two hotels available close to each other whom have negotiated room rate deals with the event. The Ramada Inn is $33/night, and the Lee's Inn is $55/night. Both hotels allow up to FOUR adults per room at that price.

Information on contacting the hotels is found in the Rotary Revolution section on this forum.

Now the good part. As a respected defender of our country who has been serving overseas we will honor our pre-Feb 29th event prices for you since you are not returning from Afghanistan until only 12 days before the prices change.

While we encourage everyone to register as early as possible (so we can pay the bills since everyone we know wants their money in advance), we feel in a case like this an exception can, should and will be made.

Looking forward to meeting you at the Revolution!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I dont really know what I can say except THANK YOU! This will be my first ever show attended bringing my own car. I mean it wont be anything like some of the cars I KNOW I will see, but it will be GREAT to see what others have to offer in the ideas catagory. Thank you very much and Ill be sure to keep in contact to let you know how things are going.

The only question I have is how will you know that its me when I get ready to pay the registration fees?

Afghanistan isnt all that bad really. I mean, I cant complain, the money from over here is how I got the money to buy and start building my car. I just wish I had more time for my sponsorship to kick in so that I can get my engine changed and upgrade for some horsepower. I would love to have it profeesionally tuned... Oh well. I only have 2 months to get what I have together and painted. So, no luck with the engine this year. However, the suspension and body are all together different. I only had time to build a ricer

Hey

I have 3 good friends with FC's I was just wondering if you have to stay the whole weekend? Is the 45.00 a car for the whole weekend or for just one day? We would be coming from Grand Rapids MI, and we want to go
Together we would have
1.1986 gxl (modded)
2.1988 gxl (non-modded)
3.1989 gtu (modded)
4.1990 gxl (modded)

You don't have to stay the whole weekend, the $45 is for you and your car no matter how long you stay. But, given the drive from GR and the fact you can share a room with up to four adults (the cheaper hotel would be about $16/person for two nights) you might consider staying at least Saturday night.

I JUST GOT SPONSORED....
I just wish I could have done it about 5 months ago when I started buying all the parts for my car. I would have been sitting with one NICE S4. Oh well....

MichRX7, I should find out in about 2 weeks about me coming to the show. Im just going to take some leave time through that weekend, so I should be good. Im gonna call the hotels tonight in hopes to make some reservations. I just wish a friend of mine could bring his car. Its stuck in Cali and he is stationed in NY with me so hes outta luck so far. He should be tagging along though.

It was probably asked or posted before, heck I might have already asked, but did you say a helmet is required to autocross? I'm not sure I fit in my car with one

What if we are unable to make it for some reason and we have already paid the registration fee. Is there any way to be refunded???

There is no way we can give refunds this year. We have numerous bills to pay in advance (insurance/track being #1). If you are unable to attend and have already registered, please contact someone in your area that has yet to pay and we will switch the information in the database and they can simply pay you the money.

Woot! Let's see who gets the better laptime!! But my FC being my first manual car, and me only having about two months to practice(only got to drive my FC for a day after I bought it... now it's in the shop... getting her back next week!), I'll probably gonna suck but oh well. It's gonna be fun anyway!!

The plan is for Barney to make it's first unveling at the Revolution.

Just a teaser, the plan is to have my car on the cover of RX Tuner with a title "USA's finest FC".

How are we both gonna fit on the cover Boosted??

I guess you could have a small insert in the corner..

I'm anxious to see your ride man. I think I've seen it photoshoped up with a Barney picture on the side.. LOL... but not any interior or engine bay pics.

I doubt mine will even be painted by then but did actually have thoughts of trying to get it done before then and maybe try and get a little picture of it in a magazine. Maybe it will be in one anyway as a one of the background cars for the Revolution's coverage in one of the mags.

Now that would be Cool!!

I could post old engine bay/interior shots ... but what it will look like is nothing like what it did. I think I'm just going to build the suspense a little.

You could maybe park your car next to mine when I take shots for the cover, then we could see yours in the reflection

I have a lot to do though. Gotta decide on a turbo ... right now leaning toward a 62-1 dual ball bearing. The car will be primarily road course, but I want 10 sec potential.

Oh ... I do accept bribes in order to get your car in the mag
