At WOT, the electric motor is doing most of the work. It's only during steady cruise at high speeds (maintained entirely by the gas engine) that the mileage can go down. At normal highway speeds, I often see upwards of 90 MPG.

Umm...we are losing the point of this thread here, lol...
We are supposed to be discussing how we can get more FC's to attend this year's event so it isn't flooded with FD's again
I know all you FC owners love to rash on those cars, where are you?

I agree with a lot of people on here, too much money and time to risk the drive, beat on the car and hop it doesn't break down, then drive back. A lot of the bigger car shows around just have a cruise to the show, then have a car show/judging event and vendors everywhere with no drag racing/auto crossing and a lot of people have a good time, at least to the ones that I have been too. I would probably go in my car, but I sure wouldn't be doing any kind of racing in it that's for sure. Of course this is if I get my haltech dialed up and my to4 installed by then....hehehehe

I went last year and had a great time. It is refreshing to see an automotive event come together with out having to deal with a bunch of rice rockets, kids that think putting a catback on there honda makes it fast, horrible music and everything else that typically accompanies that type of event. I agree, there does need to be more FCs at the event, there were alot of FDs at the event last year. Guys, put your purses down, grow some ***** and make a road trip out of it. Do some "spirited" driving on the way down and enjoy yourself for a weekend. You won't be disappointed. I promise.
BTW, leave your "cupholder" at home. It'll make the weekend that much more interestng.

Two questions. 1 How long before I have to register? and 2 Can I a friend of mine bring a Miata and run the strip and autocross or would he be stuck driving my car only?
BTW $45 to run the 1/4 and autocross till I'm blue in the face sounds like a really good deal

Also, I am working on getting Chris from RP to bring up their car(s) from Texas as well.
We've got an interesting proposal out to the sponsors to bring their race cars and to have them drag against each other to win part (or all) of their sponsorship back so the competition should be fierce.

Is it required to stay from the 30th to the 2nd? I don't think I can stay the whole weekend but I live in southeast IN so the drive shouldn't be more than 2 and a half hours or so. I'm still trying to find out about the Miata guy? If I bring a guest, can he drive my car in an event? Just some things I'd like to know. I have plans to be there regardless though.

Also is there a particular hotel the FC guys will be staying at? Or even just the people from this board staying at a particular place? How will security be in the parking lots of these places? Will there be actively walking guards around? Is there a secure underground parking area or anything. I'm not afraid to park my car outside but I have alot invested in it and just don't want my windows smashed out or car screwed with.
I also had a question about my passenger (my father) could he drive my car on the road course also or will he need to register seperately for the road course?

Lat year it seemed like most people stayed at one particular hotel. I can't remember which one. Day Inn?
Anyway, almost the entire lot was filled with RX7s. Really a great site to see. I don' think anyone had a problem with their cars being tampered with. There were enough eyes and ears around that I don't think anyone could have gotten away with anything like that.
RX& owners seem to be good people in general for some reason(at least the ones I met last year). Not a bunch of thugs.
BTW you don't have to stay the entire weekend. We just attended the events on Saturday last year.
Show up, have fun!

We'll have to double-check on the road-course and switching drivers. As far as the dragstrip and autocross, your car is your car, and who you let drive it is up to you.
If you check the Rotary Revolution forum area https://www.rx7club.com/rotary-revolution-archive-114/ or the website news area http://revolutionmktg.net/Revolution you will find information about this year's first hotel choice ($33/night). But call and get your room's fast, I know over half the hotel is already booked just from the event.
There is a caravan coming up from Texas. Check the South forum area https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=256644
The hotel does not have 24/7 security, but it is in a good neighborhood (or we wouldn't have picked it). For friday night's dinner it is within walking distance.

If that is the case do I need to call someone or when I do the paypal just send in an extra 200 with an explanation he wants to do the road course also?

If you hand your guest the keys they may drive your car. Also, they may drive to an event in a non RX/Rotary vehicle. as your guest, but will park in a separate area at the track.
During the day last year we did allow the guests to drive their vehicles late in the day, but there is no guarantee we will do this again. There were 95 rotary vehicles last year, so things were pretty open, we are planning for 200+ vehicles this year and can't predict the traffic. (aka, if RX/Rotary vehicles are lined up to drag or autocross they obviously get preferential treatment).

Than send me an email (MichRX7@rx7revolution.com) and I will update the database and send you back (via email) instructions on how to pay through PayPal.
Than when you arrive and get your registration, give us a little reminder so that we can put you in groups 1 & 3 to give your car a cool-down period between driving.
Also, keep an eye in the south forum on this board as they are working on setting up a caravan in the Dallas area. It'd probably be a lot better to drive in a pack if you can meet up with them somewhere.

We had a large group from the columbus and cleveland area last year. We'll start talking about a caravan from there soon.
