water pump question

I purchased a signature series water pump from advance(brand new), it looks like its made really well. However the water pump engineers didnt think about how i was going to get my pully back on. Can i take my crank pulley off to get my water pump pulley back on and should i check anything else while i have it off(or will it hurt anything, I.E. mess with engine parts alingement). Thanks for the help, I really dont want to mess up my engine over a $73 dollar water pump.

its a brand new pump, where'd you buy yours? The house demensions are actually different, the housing that surrounds the ecentric shaft the the impeller spins on is about a 1/4 of an inch thicker.
