Water pump gasket!

K... I went to Mazda to pick up my water pump gaskets, and all they had was the rear gasket.

My question is... is it absolutely necessary to get the front gasket... or will gasket maker stuff work?

I need to get my car on the road ASAP and the front gasket is special order, 3 day wait minimum. And yes, I tried all the Mazda dealerships around here.

TIA

RTV works fine.
About the only thing I haven't gotten RTV to work is on oil flanges on the turbo.

Use 999 gray silicon, it is the best. I don't even use the oil pan gasket. About the water pump... make sure not to loose those 2 slim shims, it can cause leaks like a MF.

Only worry about those shims if you're using the gasket... if you use RTV, don't worry about it!

try to cut your own gasket out of gasket material, and still add a thin film of silicone. never had a leak.
