Wastegate works with vacuum?
Does a internal wastegate on stock and hybird turbos need vacuum to function correctly. ie keep it closed @ low or no boost
Mine rattles when i let off the throttle.
Think about it.
On External wastegates they use different springs for certain boost pressures.
The Internal wastegate how does it function ?
on a diaphram like a BOV?
is it also spring loaded?

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
It functions similar to the auxiliary port actuators, meaning vacuum opens the valve... That's why if you remove the vac line going from the turbo to the wastegate actuator, your car won't know when to stop boosting...

You'll need to drill a hole on the wg arm and put more tension on the flapper door. I had the same problem with my hybrid. The internal wg has a spring in it which is activated by pressure. I've posted videos of the wg in action if you search for them and also made some posts about modifying the wg arm for more tension and stopping the rattling.

Technically, it's *pressure* that opens the valve.
The spring (tension) is supposed to keep it close.
Once there is enough boost to overcome the spring (tension), then it starts to open up.
