Waste gate flap missing?
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this happening before. I heard a bit of a strange noise Sunday night when I started my S4 TII up. Sounded like a rattle. "sigh, what's wrong now" definately coming from the exhaust. Took it for a spin noticed it was down on boost under 2psi (normal under 6 - stock TII remember). I've had issues with the clip/spring? on the wastegate flap coming loose and the wastegate staying open. Next day come back from work didn't hear the noice at all during my travels still low on boost, figure its the spring again. Take to the mechanic this morning to find out the whole flap has gone missing! I'm just curious if anyone has ever experienced this before?

I dont see how its even possible since there is the metal cover over the wg. Even if the door fell off I dont see how it could be "missing". Also even if the wg was always stuck open you would still be able to build boost, it would just take you alot longer to build it.

The circular piece that forms the seal over the waste gate has dissapeared, the arm is still there though. People are scrathing their heads trying to explain why. It does build boost, noticably slower though.

do'h! Hopefully it slipped through the high flow cat and fell out, or the exhaust pressure running through the turbo spat it into the engine bay somewhere.
