Want a good engine...Only have ~2k
Maybe more...Could probably swing $2500
I really wanted ( and still do ) to go to BDC but I just cant afford it. I looked at Kevin Landers site, but his site says his engines arent really made for high performance..
I just want a big agressive street port with a warranty. Is there any place I should look?
I also check out Atkins for a sec but didnt see any prices on rebuild+porting. Should I check out Pineapple? I remember hearing something bad about them a while ago...Do they have a good rep now?
Sorry if this thread is a little haphazard.

I can build you a good engine that'll hold up as well as a stocker...I don't do doweling, oil system mods, coolant passage mods, etc. that normally come with hi-po race motors like pineapple or ito might build. There are many guys on here running modified setups on my motors. IN reality, the parts used in the build determine the quality of the engine more than the builder. They only go together one way, porting is the only gray area that is proprietary and debated from on person to the next. I can build you a nice SP motor for <$2000. I would need a core to build from up front. IF you want new rotorhousings, that price will go up quite a bit...housings have almost doubled in price and availability is limited right now so we'll have to see what your needs are.

Yeah. I talked to Jacob Cartmill about it and he told me pretty much the same thing. That the build depends on the core. Well with my core, I think (pretty much know) that my rear housing is pretty messed up. How much would it cost if I needed to replace both housings and get a large street port? And he also said I can bring the car down to you and pay a little extra and youll pull/rebuild/install? The engine is pretty barebones since I installed the haltech, so theres almost nothing you have to hook up.

Just for the record, what is involved with sending an engine core out for service?
What if all you know how to do is remove the engine, can we send that?
What kind of rates is it? is it rated at like every 10 miles a 1$ for shipping or something? a motor is pretty big..
Any particular shipping company you can recommend? do shipping companys come out to your place and pick it up for you? or do you drop it off at the shipping depot?

Jesus H man, That is cool as hell. it's the little things that make a buisness what it is, and considering how many compliments i see you get and the cool little perks you give just by being cool, your buisness shoudl be rockin.
Great customer support, great information, awesome writeups, good range of services offered and Quality.
Kudos to you and hopefully i'll be able to send an engine to you someday.

I'd just be happy if people would READ MY FARKING WEBPAGE that has taken at least 18 months to assemble that covers almost any common topic under the sun. IT's there for a reason! And the reason is NOT to be ignored, but that happens anyway. I still get people calling me up asking how much for a rebuild on my 88 NA, how do I remove the engine, how do I ship it, how long does it take, what all do you replace, etc. etc. etc. I know I'm supposed to be here for customer service and all that, but gimme a friggen break, is the entire country illiterate? Sometimes I feel like I'm pissing in the wind...against it at that.

i am legendary
Kevin Landers, you are so cool. I wish I lived closer to you, but being in WA shipping would not be so fun
Therefore, I'm taking it upon myself to give it a go, since the closest rotary builders are atkins (expensive) and a few others that I don't trust. Hopefully I don't screw anything up during the tear down and port

So is there anyway I could coax you into a larger-than-average streetport? A real agressive one?
[I didn't realize you had a webpage, but im gonna check it out right now. Thank you for the specifics bro.

kevin's business is definitely rockin how do you all think he afford those denali's with 22" blingers and TVis in the headrests? lol
adamlewis, i say lets go get that other s5TII core from nweiss (so you have two cores) and get kevin to to build you a nice engine (with medium to large porting) out of all the parts we bring him, thats pretty much what i did.
i think you could get away with ~2000 bucks and probably a nice warranty w/ a hell of a country accent too

Well i can understand why people don't notice it, first off it's red, not very noticable on a white background, Also you have it in at least every thread you post in. so you just need to make it white and post it up less, then it'll fore sure get noticed.

I dont know that I've ever seen anyone post a website for Ito. His shop is called JR Rotary. He does top notch work, caters more to the high end racer scene, does a lot of old school work, bridges, halfbridges, nitrous, etc. HE and BDC do the best port work I've ever seen.

Can I bring my car down there next weekend?
Do you want me to take off the manifolds and all that for you first just to make it easier?

Dude, that reminds me. I've heard so many stories of people stealing and stripping FD's and similar cars and then burying them in the coal mines. I went to Lexington today to pick up a car and some cores, and I spotted a really beat up (but streetable) FD at a redneck engine shop. I've gotta call about that **** next week, I may save it from a hard life.
