I personally believe MisRed needs to be banned from this forum because of his beliefs like drifting is so stupid there are a lot of Rx7 owners who drift the hell out of they're car and what is up with your head in your *** views with buicks like a '87 Buick Grand National is too good of a car to drag race with . I personally think everyone should of flamed your *** for putting a V6 what the **** are you thinking you *** when people do piston swaps for rotarys they do v8's but Rotarys rock i have said what i wanted to say
so you can go back to ****** beliefs.
so you can go back to ****** beliefs.
You also are essentially clueless about the Buick V6 turbo, but I wouldn't expect someone like yourself to understand the reasons behind the hidden performance, because V8's are obviously bigger! It's people like yourself that I love to meet at the track, usually in the staging lanes that insist on counting spark plug wires or asking me 'Where is the NOS?'. Thank you, thank you for your ignorance... it really makes racing this car that much more fun!
Thanks for those who see it my way (drifting dangerous and stupid).. There are always a few *** clowns on the Internet, but this board seems like its got more then it needs. I am so accustom to the Buick boards where all we talk about is making our cars haul *** and it's definitely a culture shock visiting over here to only see topics about which taillights look the best, how big of a wing can I double stick tape on my car, what's the best stereo to make my ears bleed and of course, how come I can't slide my car around in an empty parking lot as long as I don't hit a light pole??

Folks, I suggest reading the rules... but I'll reiterate the important part here: 1st offense, WARNING. 2nd offense, temporary (1 week) ban. 3rd offense, it's like baseball. 3 strikes and you are outta here.

Doesn't look like I am welcome here if I am getting warnings for my very tactful construction criticism above. Maybe the board should be renamed RotaryClub.com since I obviously have an RX-7 but don't fit in ..
Take care and I apologize for anything taken the wrong way.

And MisRed, I agree, there's a time and place for drifting, I'd imagine it's a good skill to have in the rare instance that emergency situations arise on the street and drifting could help. But most of the time it's simply useful for professional driving stunts (like those seen in commercials/television and in movies). And it should be done ON A TRACK not anywhere in public, unless YOU own the location, in which case, you can do pretty much whatever the heck you want on it.

Maybe one day when all of you driftin' kiddies grow up and learn that (good) tires are very expensive and that mommy and daddy won't buy them forever because brakestands/ burnouts/ drifting = very expensive. Besides, they are all just the slow and show way of getting somewhere (however fun).

The DTSS bushings are pretty cheap and do increase cornering feel quite a bit but they're not so easy to install so keep that in mind. Its a lot of work to do just for the DTSS bushings, you may as well replace all of them.

I would like to apologize for my ignorant post i have made earlier in this thread . I just had a really bad day that day and what i said does not belong in this forum. My comment was very igornant and very unintelligent and therefore shouldnt of been said in the first place . It also seems like he dissed the 7 making it seem like a pos which i other the hand do not think so. But he should be able to do whatever he wants to his car since he owns and shouldnt be flamed like i did early just because he has a different opinion .
Peace out

I was able to work the bushings off of my front control arms. They were tough enough to do with a pair of pliers, a torch, and an angle grinder. The rear steer ones would have been hell to do by hand. The ones on my car had become one with the car. I wound up taking my car into a shop that could press them out. The first time in about two years it's been worked on by a stranger. I felt bad for doing that, but in the end it worked out very well. So for those that haven't done it - DO IT! It's not that expensive and makes the back end much more predictable in any driving situation.

Drifting is cool, doing it where my daughter and I may be(like a public parking lot) is a selfish and thoughtless thing to do. And yes I do think the whole drift culture over in Japan, and drifting in genereal is coll as hell. Therefore I plan to attempt to organize a legal and safe on next summer. Also people say drifting is all about CONTROLL, then how did you learn?

why is it that every time a threade pops up about drifting a few jackasses have to put down the folks who enjoy it? sure its dangerous, but so is any other form of fast driving. anybody that slides thats worth a **** knows to make it as safe as possible. pointless? yes. stupid? no. its fun and although one can argue that the skills learned dont do any good anywhere, ive noticed that in an emergency situation i can keep my car in control much better than i used to. sure its a showy waste of rubber, but its still fun. its like playing video games, there is nothing that a video game can help you with in the real world, but its still fun to play them. same thing with drifting. has no purpose whatsoever in a racing situation, its just fun to get out there and hang the *** out. i hope this will clear up some of this negativity that is aimed towards people that drift..........but i doubt it.

I did mine with a torch, and a dremel. Heated the center rod, really really hot. Then pulled the bar out. Grind out the metal sleeve with the dremel. Pop it with a punch and wow. Its out. Not scratches on the knuckle or anything. I dont make enough money per hour to say that taking them to get pressed is cheaper than the extra hour grinding the things out Worth every bit of effort.

Well Sky, normally I do everything at my buddy's garage. But this with this little project, I wanted it done before I went to a lapping day at Pacific Raceway. I did NOT want to have a loose rear at those speeds. Plus I figured I had already save up so much from doing my own work I thought why not?
So, how's Hawaii treating you?

#1 ... I had a bitch of a time doing mine, wasent hard or anything. Just the previous owner had the idea to loctight the hub on the axle I had to pound it to hell to get it off and then grind the frigging thing to get it back on! I know that sounds kinda dumb but when ya think somethings only gonna take one day to do and looks like its gonna take two ya get inventive.
#2 Ive heard all the arguements for and against drifting . yes I do drift from time to time... if it helps me take a turn faster, but i dont call myself a drifter. its just a skill I keep in mind when im driving. I (keyword I<--)use it too slow down at the critical moment so i can take the turn faster. now everyone dosent use drift the same. so ya cant say that everyone who drifts is using it for show or irresponsible. some of us know what where doing...I hope
ok i can type more and more but whats the point.. its like argueing religion sometimes
