Walbro on a NA?

I have a 90 convertible with a K&N cone air filter RB header and a Mazdatrix high flow cat. Would there be a benefit to adding a Walbro fuel pump to the car at this time?

No, not necessary for an NA with those mods.

no, but a safc + dyno tuning would give you a lil more power... not too much, but every lil bit counts

i think the stock fuel system is fine for up to 250 fwhp or something like that

also, get a cold air box around that cone filter if you dont have one, that will help too

NAs run rich as it is, no sense in upgrading the fuel system unless you're running some serious mods/porting. As vectorminds said, a tuned SAFC (to lean it out most likely) would net you some more power.

I had purchased a Walbro hi flow for my na awhile back. Fortunately for me, I had not Installed It (I realized I didn't need It) but with my upcoming TII conversion, now Is a better time than any to drop It In.

I don't think you need one based on your mods, not by far.

Guys, do not be surprised if 1/4 mile your car doesn't go as fast or faster with a header.

On my 2 friends cars that was the case. With the opened up exhaust they went the same time or actually a little slower. The plugs were really lean, so one put TII sec injectors in w/TII fuel pump and the other went with a Walbro and 720's in secs.

TII setup with header showed a 6/10's increase, while the 720/walbro setup 9/10's increase.

In drag racing those are huge gains, guys spend thousands to get a few tenths shaved off their 1/4 times.

My kids car ran faster with header & w/o injector/pump mods installed 3/10's but her motor had a mild street port.
I tend to believe this guy considering he does I think 13.07 in the 1/4 with a N/A. So I guess it all depends what you have done to the car
