Vacuum leak?Gasket Leak?Maybe my baby is just messed up?WTF?

I still have this damn whistling sound coming out of my 13B. I took your guys advice, I took off my belts-it wasnt them. I investigated for hose leaks and couldnt find any that popped off or had holes. I cant feel any air coming out either. I even sprayed my engine down with water while running to try to find any bubbles or hear any burbling goin on-still no luck. Its hard to pinpoint where its coming from, but Ive found its coming like right behind the alternator in the pulsation damper area, or even sounds like it could be coming from under the intake manifold somewhere, or even underneath my motor maybe even. I havent a clue, but its very anoying and it worries me. I thought maybe its a gasket, but its air coming out, so I dont know what gasket it could be. This bothers me a lot, and I just want to get it fixed.

grap you fan and try to move it front/back side/side. if there's any play your water pump bearings are gone. that could be doing it.

alright

Ill do that, but would my pump still pump water if the bearings were blown? because I know it still does, it dosent leak and my hoses all have pressure and get hot

it'll still work fine till it gets really bad. just like turbo bearings.

my pump has a bit of play. I'll be changing it before it comes back onto the road in the spring time.

I don't know. I don't think the bearings would be making the noise but if the fan is moving back and forth and it turns it might make some weird air noises. if it does sound like air I'd be checking more for intake or vac. line leaks. but the pump only takes a few secs to check and if it is loose should probably be changed anyways.

my TII was making the same oise when i went on boost, turned out to be my intake manifold gasket. Try the stsrting fluid trick to see if you have any leaks, you might have to be in just the Right position to get the trick to work if the leak is in the back near the fire wall.
