The first thing that comes to mind is the dual TPS of the S5. That would be one extra. What about the S5 electric OMP?

This is why when I put the S5 motor in my friends car, I opted for the S4 vac assembly, and intake. The S5 Vac assembly is going to be different. You are going to need an S4 and S5 wiring diagram. Also, the S4 harness has a plug (yellow) for your EGR. The S5 has no EGR.

Welcome to the nightmare.

Did you use the s4 vac assembly or the s5 one?

*edit* and I swapped the front housings to an S4 one, eliminated the electric OMP for which the S4 is not equipped to run.

You need the FSM. www.fc3s.org has them. I dont think that the S5 ECU can run in an S4 car. I know that if you swap the motor harness to S5, that will be fine, but I heard (thats right, heard) that the other harnesses (chassis, lighting, etc) wont work with the S5 ECU.

If I am wrong someone PLEASE correct me, cause it would solve some major issues I am having with the S4 car I did the S5 swap to.

Okay, those solenoids do different things on the S4 motor then they do on the S5 motor. Not to mention the fact that there are more of them on the s5 vac rack. The electric OMP will not work, there isnt a plug on the S4 harness to run it, and the ECU wont control it.

Lets recap here...You have an S5 motor (including vac assembly, complete intake, etc.) in your S4 car. S4 harness and S4 ECU wiring harness. Do I have that right?

Problems start almost immediately if thats the case. Those solenoids on the S5 control things like VDI, 6-ports, etc... Things that ARENT on an S4 car. The electric OMP is now worthless, it cant be run by the S4 ECU. Some of those plugs you are referring to on your S4 harness correspond to things that DO NOT EXIST on an S5 motor (like the EGR valve).

This is why I opted to run an S4 vac rack and S4 intake on my S5 block. OR run an S5 intake with an S4 Vac rack.

*edit* Sorry if I am confusing you, I just went through this same thing. If you do not live in an emissions area, there is still hope for you. You can pretty much get away with running that motor and pre-mixing.

Yes you have the situation correct...BUT, i had to use the S4 lower intake manifold because it wouldnt fit on the S5 block (dont know why) And i realize that i will now have to premix and there are diff things like the now non-existing EGR and the VDI that wont work. But there have got to be some of those that will work...which ones will?....This has been a huge pain and i am just trying to get this all done. This seems to be one of the last things i cant figure out.

You used the s4 lower? And the S5 upper? How the heck did you manage that?

If you use the S4 lower manifold on an S5 motor, BEWARE!! You now have a GIANT EXHAUST leak under the center part of your intake manifold!

Okay, this is not going to be easy... I need to get this 100% straight.

You have:

An S4 car, with an S5 motor, with an S4 LIM, and an S5 UIM. Is that about all? Sure you didnt mix and match anything else? This is IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

I may be able to get you through this, but its not going to be easy.
