Vac hoses

Hi everyone,
Not a post regarding the vac hose diagram, I've well and truly located that. I was wondering however if anyone had listed the size of the hoses required to replace them all as per the diagram. If not I might end up doing one myself when I replace my vac hoses in a couple of weeks.

If someone has in fact done it, could someone point me in the right direction as I found nothing through searching as to the size of the vac hoses required in the FC in each section - I assume turbo/wastegate hoses are going to be bigger than others.

I am assuming the hoses required are the same as the FD - 4mm and 6mm, but if someone can tell me otherwise, it would be appreciated. Also lengths required would be appreciated as well.

4mm & 6mm. The lengths you need will depend on what model you have, and if you have all emissions equipment. I'd say around 25' of 4mm, and 10' of 6mm should cover just about everything.

3.5mm if you are turbo! 4 mm fits but will leak under boost! If you are buying it in standard measurements, it is 5/32" , NOT 3/16" . This has been confirmed by my own pressure tests using this tester: www.boostpro.net/prodtester.html , universal tester. Even Mazdatrix recommends 3.5 mm. http://www.mazdatrix.com/C-SILHOS.HTM . Looking at your sig, it says you are stock. I doubt it will matter in that case, but when you start turning up the boost you'd be surprised where all these little leaks can come from.

If you are blocking off any of your vacuum ports, use the special high temperature vacuum caps sold by McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com , part # 6448K74 . The parts store ones WILL fail from the heat eventually. Take it from somebody who has run 21psi before.

from the mazdatrix site: a complete hose change takes 13ft of 3.5mm and 6ft of 6.0mm.

Thanks all for your help.

Thank you arghx - I don't plan on running higher boost at this stage, but I have vac leaks at the moment, which is the whole reason for doing the replacement of hoses. So I will track down 3.5mm rather than using 4mm to make sure I get the bastards. 3.5mm does seem very hard to find in Australia though, 6mm is easy enough though. I'll find it.

Now that I think about it, I did buy 3.5mm, not 4mm.
