how did you plan on hooking up the upper rad hose? looks pretty tight LOL..
I would have cut out the upper rad surport. and put the IC further to the front, so the rad wasn't as far back.

I have been thinking of doing this for quite a long time now. In fact I have the radiator out of the car now and was just about to take the nose of the car off to see about making a different type of shroud. But after seeing all of the pics, I am definetly going to be doing this. I don't like having my IC blocking all of my airflow to the radiator. Thanks for the Pics Blue.

I really like the idea of better cooling through this setup. Although I can't quite understand how the intercooler will be supplied enough air sitting near the top of the hood like that. As I can see only air skimming the intercooler and not actually going through it. Did you somehow build an undertray to funnel the air through the ic?

I guess the pictures didn't help illustrate my previous post explaining it after all
Air comming in the nose of the car from the stock opening can only go through the oil cooler mounted inches away from the opening and the radiator. The lower shroud and the side shrouds completely block it from going anywhere else.
The IC will have a completely seperate air supply. It will be an opening in the rubstrip between the turn signals. The air entering here can go nowhere but flow up the slope of the lower shroud, throught the IC and out a reverse scoop in the hood in the hoods natural low pressure area. It is blocked in by the upper shroud (cooling panel location), the side shrouds and the rear shroud.
The IC airflow is a fairly direct, smooth path from the highest pressure area on the car to one of the lowest pressure areas in which the heating of the air helps it rise through the IC and the low pressure area above it sucks it out.
The reverse scoop is a CF one added on to a alum. NA hood. I might later get a Panspeed hood or one similar as it has a larger opening and looks good!

I have always pondered this setup but I was always thinking of the IC before the rad support, not behind it. This gives me all kinds of new ideas! This is one of those trends that is very popular in Japan, but has yet to really hit the Western world. The ridiculously short IC piping is soooo appealing! What are you paying for sheets of CF? I bet I can give you a better deal. I have a front mount but in the meantime plan on making CF air "halls" around it for my rad and oil coller as well.

Boost, I bought a 3'x4' CF sheet from Carbontrix when I bought the vent. If I need more I will check out your price.
There are some issues still as you guys have noticed.
-The radiator cap has room to come off, but it is not convenient to fill there. I think it will work out fine filling and such from the higher cap at the waterpump outlet, as I did on the stock system.
-If I use the stock S4 waterpump outlet (as pictured) my upper radiator hose must do a near 180 out of the outlet and a 90 into the radiator. I am thinking of going to something like the 3rd gen outlet/AST to make it more direct.
-The angle of the radiator and fan isn't optimal. I think the large radiator offsets this.
-I have to cut open my nose to supply air to the IC. I could get around this bringing air from other places, but I want the most direct supply. I am a bit apprehensive about this, but the nose is a bit rough anyways and the paint doesn't match great- so what the hell. I plan on substituting a black mesh for the black rubstrip between the turn signals.

ahh... not sure about the s4, but on the s5 there is a bumper behind the bumper cover.. if you cut a hole between the turn signals, no air will get though. you need to cut up higher between the FTP's. there is about an inch high strip where there is nothing behind it on the S5.
I want to cut mine open here, but that means when it rains all the water will run down the hood and into that hole... so I gota figure that out.
