The V-Mount has begun!

I should point out that all of the work up to this point is being performed my my friend Moremazda (Ryan Shook). I couldnt fabricate a metal box to save my life, I am an electrician by trade. So when the trick wiring goes in, then I can claim I did that!

I guess it doesnt matter how many posts you have, everyone can have noob moments.
The work looks excellent but if you dont mind me asking why do a V-mount? Just for room constraints?
I have a ARK sitting in my garage waiting to go into my Ssupercharged V8 FC, would a V-mount solve my fitment issues?
Thanks guys!

actually, I know someone who does have a 220V/60 amp cord(well ,the cord is rated for 100A) . The thing is at least 1.5" thick, made of hard wire, so it's hard as hell to manage, and is 100' long!!!!
it's a beast... but sometimes, you need to run your 250Gal aircompressor and plasma torch outside, to work on monumental work!!!
but yeah, pretty hard to come by a cord like that!!!!!!!!!

Nice project JR. Should cool like a **** heading over to Cali in September for Sevenstock. Keep up the good work. Ask moremazda if he'll consider fabbing up a Gen 3 Vmount as well. I'm seriously considering making the switch. I've just heard of too many people with great results to ignore it any longer.
Good luck, and keep up the good work!

I've always been a fan of Vmounts because of the the direct flow the rad will still get.
As long as ducting is done properly though(disclaimer crap for vmount haters)...
Hey rat, Have any picks of the trust mounted? I'm curious as to what would have to be removed of any.

http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/member...tos&car_id=833 check that out. If it's the same trust kit as mine this should give you a pretty good idea.

WOW... now this is really unexpected. I've been wondering why you haven't been calling me recently. I see why now. I guess there will be two VMIC FCs in Arizona. Me in Phoenix and you in Tucson. Good luck with everything. I know Ryan is going to do an awesome job on the fabbing.
My VMIC -
My new Panasports!
ey, you'll be hearing from me soon about your suspension.

Not the reason at all! I called you the other day! This project was funded long before the suspension decision, I am just waiting on the stupid Government to cough up the cash!!

Saturday Progress
We are taking a long time with this, so not much major happened. Here are the pics:
Rough idea of the custom intake elbow area:

Front shot of the IC mocked into place:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1437.JPG)
Some of the piping mocked in:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1438.JPG)
In order to maintain the stock PS pump and steering, we had to find a belt that would fit without the tensioner. Then the tensioner area will be cut off. The return IC line will be snaking through that area.:

hmm... I'm still not sure how you're mounting everything up, or how its gonna work if its how I think its gonna be... the angles of everything look very... unique...
but cool! can't wait to see how it turns out. and that must be a big IC core if you can barely fit it in front of the PS pump... I have like 4 inches in front of mine, and I though my IC was pretty big.... lol.

Progress sunday
So I was under the impression that Ryan (the fabricator) had homework to do, so we werent going to work on the car. Hmmm I get a call at about 630 PM from him saying to come over and bring the camera.
This is what I found:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1462.JPG)
Bout a half inch clearance from the pump:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1463.JPG)
Right mount:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1464.JPG)
Left mount and end tank:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1465.JPG)
right end tank :
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1468.JPG)
Left end tank:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1469.JPG)
PS Pump bracket cut out:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1470.JPG)
Side view:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1472.JPG)
I GET TO HELP!!! YAY!!!:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1477.JPG)
IC piping ran:
![](http://jrat.snikt.org/VMount/IMG_1480.JPG)
If this is any indication of Ryan's work, the mount is so sturdy you can stand on the IC. My GF demonstrating the strength:

Thats all for now!!!
