using rb road race header to operate vdi?
hey guys, i have a S4 RX7 with a S5 engine and manifold set. It is running a s5 rb road race duals system.
I just purchased the 86-88 road race header with the aux port pick up tube and am curious if anyone's tried running the vdi off it as well.
It would seem to me that with a vac tee and a restrictor pill at the vdi valve it should be possible to get within the neighborhood of 5200 rpm.
What do you think?
My other option would be to swap to s4 manifolds to eliminate the vdi but to my understanding the loss from having it wired open is minimal while the gains from the s5 manifold set equate to around 10hp.
Assuming that is not true then I would like to run the s4 manifolds, it would clean up some of the vac lines and be a lot closer to stock, nice for my idle, and nice for my repair manual...
