Ok, stupid question, I have a fuel filter here that came off of a friends car. It was used for about a month before the car was written off and then sat in my carport for about a year.

What would happen if I installed this on a car? would the filter media be dead? or should it work like a month old filter? The persons car that this filter might go on is trying to 'economize' cause there are some other things that he has to do to the car and pay for school.

 

hmm..I suppose it should still work fine, but they are cheap enough, that I'd buy a new one just to make sure.

 

has it been sitting dry and bagged or wet and full of gas?

if it has just been lying around the back bench... I would just get a new one... too many worries about rust and junk inside.

if its been bagged or full of gas it should be fine.
