Upgrading Stock Ignition
quick question here....
my coils bombed out on me about a month ago, and im considering dropping some new coils, im kinda sick of all the problems with the old ones, with perhaps a new ignition system. ive heard some things here and there about this issue but i was wondering if anyone with some experience might have some good recommendations.
thanks guys

Unless you are looking to spend $1000 for little gain, then just replace the stock parts. I am curious to find out "all the problems with the old ones" you are experiencing. The FC ignition system is very well designed...

its mainly just frustration, like i said i haven’t gotten the engine to start for about a month now, it turns, gets fuel, etc. so ive been lead to assume there isnt enough spark, both the stock coils had one corroded terminal, that may be the problem but it was like that before when the car started fine. might be time to invest in a digital multimeter to get an accurate resistance reading.

you could simply have fouled plugs... the ignition system on the FC is quite powerful and can handle close to 500RWHP with just simple plug tuning. it is a better system than the FD uses.
corroded terminals was due to either crappy plug wires or faulty wire installation, if the wires were not fully seated into the coil then the arcing will destroy both the coil and the plug wire.
