Upgrading Brake system and lines
I need some help, I have An 88 4 lug SE, I am upgrading it system by system and I am doing the 4 lug to 5 lug conversion, with the upgraded 4 piston calipers, anyway I am about to order the Goodridge SS brake lines and noticed that there are two types, one with the sport suspension, which was not available on the SE and ones with out. So basically what is the difference? I mean I dont have the sport suspension so I should get the ones that are for models w/ rear disc & solid rear axle. But if I were to upgrade to sport suspension, would it make a difference? Thanks for the help in advance I am just confused as to what is the difference between these two sets of lines
I posted this on the Suspension/Wheels/Tires/Brakes, but I did not seem to get any feedback, so I thought I could try here, thanks

What Subscription?
When doing the 4 to 5 lug conversion:
1. Use the GXL or TII Master Cyinder and Brake booster assembly
2. Also use the correct proportioning valve that came with whatever Master cylinder you are using.
Use the soprt lines

Also if you are going to 5 lug this guy will give you a great deal on some cross/slotted rotors.

I got mine and had them completely powder coated in red. they look sweet. can't wait to get them on.

I was in the process of ordering them, when the guy said - "Oh, and they are on an 8 - 10 week backorder."

Sorry for the temporary thread jack, but:
I know that with the 4-piston calipers, there is more even clamping and wear, but I was wondering, does upgrading from the single piston to the four piston decrease breaking distance/reduce fade or anything?
I just want to know if it is really worth it.

I am no expert, but I think it is a significant upgrade as far as specifically how, I would not know. I am doing a restoration/ upgrade to every system and the first thing that needed to be fixed was the brake system so I upgraded, it also helped that Kevin Landers was selling the parts on here for a decent price so I jumped on it.

yes. all the models that came with the the good brakes stop faster than the models with the single piston brakes. I don't remember the numbers, but I have seen them. it should also reduce fade as the rear rotors are now vented, so they should cool off better.
you can also feel the difference. I did the swap a while ago, and now under hard braking my face feels like its going to fall off. it didn't do that w/ the 4 lug brakes.
