updates......and more questions
Well, I got around to fixing the spoiler and started getting rid of rust on the GTU today. When I was under the car, I noticed a cable sticking into one of the frame rails, I thought it looked kind of odd, something like that could get smashed if a jack were used to lift on that part of the frame. It ended up being the speedo cable (someone tucked it in there), I attached it to the tranny again, but there was no shaft in the center like usual cables have..... would this explain something about how whenever I turn the key the shift light comes on and then the buzzer comes on?

It's not related to the buzzer either.
The shift light should go out when you are in fifth gear. Anytime in fifth gear. If it does not go out in fifth then the over the top switch is busted/fault. OR if it flickers in fifth, then try holding the shift lever with some pressure to the right and fwd. If the light stays out, that means the fifth gear switch is busted/faulty.
A used speedo cable out of the wreckers should be less than ten bucks.

Well, I have yet to drive my car. The engine needs a rebuild, but I have been trying to find out everything that is wrong with the car, so I can do most of it at one time. Whenever I turn the key to acc, the shift light comes on and then the buzzer stays on, all of the idiot lights come on and stay on as well, I cant account for most of them, but I sure as hell know my hatch is closed Any ideas about these other probs since we seem to have the speedo cable issue cleared up?
