update - rx7club hardware donations - expanding website

I've been talking with Ryan on hardware donations.

If he can get a list of manufacturers / model #s we might can do some used, refurb, ebay, or new donations.

Here's his current responce:

Clayton, thanks for writing. I think we're only going to be able to afford a hardware upgrade. The cost of more than a T1 is just going to be totally unreasonable, and I don't think DSL in this area can be reliable enough.

As far as hardware, we're going to build a new machine. We need a dual processor system, at least 1 gig RAM, SCSI drives with preferable SCSI RAID - although even IDE RAID is better than what we have now. I want to build a system based on the Tyan dual Athlon motherboard, but we're open to anything.

Any donations would be great! We also need a tape backup drive to do regular backups. If you want to donate, but want to talk about it first, call me at (respond to this thread). I don't check my e-mail that often since my home DSL is down right now :-)

Thanks,
Ryan

There is the new IDE4 motor boards that have a native raid built in for the up to 7 HDDs you could hook up (Im leaving one open for a CDrom). I dont know if they come in a dual processor configuration yet. I just ordered one for evaluation here at work

Gotta hate getting to play with all the new toys.
