Update on my Centerforce Clutch

Hopefully this is the final update on my Centerforce clutch.

I felt obligated to post some good news about my clutch out of fairness to Centerforce.

I pulled the second clutch out yesterday morning fully expecting to take it back for
a refund today. It was vibrating really bad. I noticed the CF weights
were pushed off center and difficult to push back. My little brother showed
up and talked me into giving it another chance. We could see where the
weight ring had made some marks on the diaphram where they were riding. I
worked the weights around a little bit and put a very light coating of
grease on the diaphram spring surface. My brother promissed me if it didn't
work he'd help pull it all back apart. We centered the weights perfectly and
put it all back together. Wow! It worked. It's nice and smooth now,
engagement is perfect too.

Hope this will save anyone putting in a CF some grief. Make sure the
weights move freely and center them as best as you can.

I'm still baffled that the centrifical force didn't "force" the weights
back to the center.

Ok guys, I know this is an INCREADIBLY old thread, but I feel it necessarty to correct. Centrifugal force puches away from a central axis, so the weights would not "center" by reving the engine up. Centripetal force, however, pushes towards the middle of an axis. Just for clarification...

PS - I know youre not gonna respond and just allow this thread to fall back into where it came from, but its the perfectionist in me, sorry.

Any you should also know that every 100-level college physics course tells you that "Centripetal force" is a "false" force.

It shows the last time I took a physics course was 10 years ago!
Yep, I got it backwards...
