up in smoke, lots of smoke

i just bought an 88 non turbo rx, it had been sitting for over a year and when i finally got it running it showed no oil pressure, originally this was because there was no oil in it. i thought that was strange, but i filled up the oil and the oil pressure gauge still showed nothing, so i jsut figured the sending unit was bad or something. so on taking it on the first test run it ran great, doesn't run rough or anything and seems to have all the power it should, but about 5 seconds after revving the engine up over 6k the entire car and everything around it was engulfed with a blue and white smoke, i know its oil, but whats the diagnosis, im not sure what could be wrong, there is a hell of a lot of smoke, and its not normal, it happens everytime i rev it up real high. does this have something to do with the oil pressure too?

oil. seals are shot. They are rubber rings, and when subjected to exterme heat of no oil for even a few seconds, they turn hard, and no longer seal oil well. Usually when I take them apart they come out as one ring, but I have found a few that came out in about 50 pieces about 1/4" wide.
