Unique Electrical Prob

![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I've just changed out my 86 base interior with a 88 gxl. Everything went great until I tried to hook up the power windows.
On the drivers side door there are 2 connectors comming from it. One for the mirrors and one for the door locks and windows. The one for the mirrors were there. The one for the window was not.
By searching the site, I was able to find out which wire for the window was the pos, and which wire was the neg. OK, so I fed the pos with a fuseable link from the battery and grounded the other to the frame. Wala the window works.
Now heres where it gets funny. With the key on, when I put the mirror control to passenger side it controls the window and no mirror control at all. WTF?
OK no big deal right , wrong. While it controls window when the car is on, it also send a pos feed back to the ecu when its off. Not knowing this, this morn I tried to roll down the passenger window while the key was in the off position. So for the second time I've fried my ecu.
Any suggestions would help. I'm running out of ecu's to fry.
Not being able to roll down the windows is not an option I live in Florida (i.e. no power window flames)
Oh, sorry for the long post I just wanted to be thorough.

Um....I hate electricity.
About the only thing i can offer you is the ECU sitting in my garage. You pay shipping and that's it. That is, unless you can't afford another one.
But if that's not good enough,
Here's what I suggest:
Stand directly in front of the car. Place your front right foot squarly infront of it and do 150 "KI YA'S!"
That should fix it.
In case you don't know what a KI YA is, try this website:

But if I do send you my ecu, FOR CHUPACABRA'S SAKE at least HOOK UP A PUNY FUSE TO IT!

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
You have pins in the wrong place in the door plug.
Did you mix up the drivers door and passengers door harnesses, when you replaced them and the dash harness???

No i didn't have to change any plugs around. The doors I have on there are a direct replacment.
Meaning I also got the doors from the gxl. I took off the old doors and simply put on the gxl doors. There was only one connector that fit on both sides. There was no other place for the other plugs.
The only wires I messed with are the pos & neg wires comming from the drivers side door. I'm going to disconect the passenger side door all together. Maybe directly feeding that window will solve the prob. But I don't want to hack this thing up.
I've looked in the FSM but it is a little vague on the wiring between models. It says that they should be the same, but because of my prob I know they are not.
Is there any way to maybe get a wiring harness to get around hacking up the original wiring?
If so what would I need?
Templeswain I'll PM you because finding the right ecu has been a haslle. Thanks to the forum. I've logged in over 200 hiyas to no avail. Maybe another 200 will help.
Much praise!!

PyroCloud.
I just stripped hte interoir of my GXL yesterday.
I now have this sneaking suspician that there's something more than meets the eye going on here.
And so I also think that you're going to fry another ECU again. I say this because a positive feed back should fry the main fuses or some fuse some where else.
I have the entire dash and interoir stripped so I have a clear view of every freaking wire in there.

Thanks templeswain got your ecu today, money is on the way.
But I don't think that is the ECU. Pluged the new one in, but before I did I disconected all the stuff I had pluged in from the doos including the main feed from the battery.
The car is still doing the same thing. Checked the AFM with a meter according to the FSM. It checks out. Read that in another post somewhere.
I noticed that the car was out of oil, should of checked that first, will it do something like that if there is no oil in the car?
Thanks Templeswain your the man!

I found it, I found it, I found it!!!!!
Yea, it turned out to be a bad fuel pump relay under the dash. It has five connection points and six wires going into it.
To check it I took off the black cover, held the relay closed (you'll have to take it apart to see what I mean) and the car stayed on, wow.
Check that out to see if you have the same problem.
Thanks a million to Dave at fc3s.com for the advice!
