Ultra low side mount seat rails?

Hey all, I bought a bride zeta III sport the other day, and I need a seat rail that is designed to be very low to mount to the fc. With the stock seats, I hit my head on the headliner and because of my small diameter steering wheel, I have trouble seeing the gauge cluster. I need a rail that will allow my overall seating position to be lowered by 3 inches or more in order to clear my head and allow easy viewing of the instrument cluster. What is the best rail for this job? Thanks.

IIRC, Bride "FG" rails for the FC are low-mount.

For the absolutely lowest position, a Bride "Low Max" seat (which is designed with a lower bucket part and thinner cushioning or something) might have been the best choice.

definitely, but i can't afford one of those seats

Do you know how much the fg rails combined with the zeta 3 might lower the stock seating position by? Thanks.

If you can't find seat rails, or the rails you do find don't work well enough, then there is something else you can do. I've seen some taller drivers (6"6'+) using a longer boss for the steeringwheel. It's like aving a telescoping wheel all the way out towards you. Basically it allows you to sit in a more reclined position without having to reach like crazy to grab the wheel. Not an ideal solution, but one more thought that could help you be more comfortable.

Hmm, this is definitely a solution, but the thing is, with a fixed back seat, reclining isn't really possible. And the other reason is that I really like my current seating position for pedalwork. I'll have to look into the rails, I'm about 6'1.

Yes it is... the seal rails let you set what angle the seat is at, to a certain degree. You just can't change it without a bit of work...

try checking with http://wedgeengineering.net/ and see if they can make it low enough for you.

My corbeau fx1 pro seat sits me with my head just barely touching the headliner, and next to the door trim. I despise it.
$100 bucks for side mounts? HAH, my friend and I are going to make my own and weld them in.

Sparco-style sliders are crap for headroom as well.

IMO Bride FG rails are the only way to go... since the seat is designed to fit between the sliders and just about touch the crossmembers, instead of sitting on TOP of the sliders... Theoretically you get about the same headroom as bolting it straight to brackets.

I'm 6' with the Bride FG rails and veilside seats, my head drags the headliner unless you mount the seats tilted all the way back. Even then it's iffy. If you do any "real" racing, you'll need to mount to the floor if your over 5'6".
