UIM coolant leaks?

Has anyone had any coolant leaks on the bottom side of the UIM? I think I am leaking water (yes, there is water in the block not coolant. I bought it that way and havent had time to flush it.) I am pretty sure that it is water that is leaking and not fuel...

This all started because my primary injectors were crappy in my new vert so, I replaced them with another set that I know are good. Well after looking over my primary fuel rail, I saw that the screw in the FPD fell out so I replaced it with another rail that had the banjo bold mod on it. Then I looked over the BAC (b/c I have a cold start issues) and saw that the water/coolant inlet hose was clogged. So, I unclogged it. Well, after putting everything back together again, I turned on the car and saw a clear liquid gushing everywhere underneath the UIM. At first I thought it was the injectors. So, I replaced the o-rings and even put back in the original injectors. I checked the fuel lines, which are ok, and the banjo bolt, which is sealed tight and not leaking. The only other thing I could think about is that it could be because the cold start **** is leaking into, around or on the UIM... Is this possible? Has it happened to anyone?

Well, there are several coolant lines routed in and around the UIM. Just so you can check it out, the coolant flows from the back of the water-pump (kinda under the alternator), then up and into the BAC, than back out and into kind of the backside of the UIM (where it interacts with the thermowax setup), then it goes out of that and into the top of the rear-iron (the block).

Chances are you didn't get the clamps on tight, forgot to hook something up, or a hose was split in the UIM removal. Pay special attention to the small 'L' shaped hose from the thermowax to rear-iron--this one is the "PITA".

What about the heater line from the bottom of the Trottle body to the top/ back of the block. It's a major pain in the **** to tighten well.

I think I got that coolant line pretty tight... Its a pretty big hose and I remember it failing on my last 7 so it was the first one that I checked; however, it was dry. I dont know... This sucks too because the car is idling steadily and drives good now w/ the new injectors and all the stuff I did to it... But I might just park it and drive the Benz if I cannot figure it out b/c I just wanna be sure that it isnt fuel (I have had another 7 catch on fire on me before from negligance and I dont want it to happen again.) So, since the body is in good condition, I think I might just leave it be until I get an EMS for this car to begin the swap.

Naw I havent...

Wow, I had to look that one up... I thought the only water jackets were sandwiched between the housings... I didnt know there were any in the intake manifold. Will check it out tonight. Thanks bro, I think you hit it on the head..... Would you happen to know the sizes of the O-rings? Thanks

P.S. -- I now know that it is water b/c my add coolant buzzer just came on.
