Run with NASA ,Vaughn.. HTTP://www.nasaproracing.com. And I KNOW that Road Atlanta does track days like that, I just don't have all the details. Do you want me to look that up for you?

BTW, since my other thread died, I'll post a pic here to give Kevin inspiration

Yo,

NICE! That's Turn 3, right? You can really see all that rollbar foam. *snicker* Wait, I see your mirror too!

Oh hey, what tires are you using? Did you get those Toyo RA-1's? In the pic it looks like you're laying down some rubber...*grin*

Yep, 3.. I'll show you foam next time we're at the track THWAP

I killed the mirror, pieces fell out of it I'm going with a wink mirror anyway, easier to mount.

Those are the RA1s.. 205 on 6".. Not great, but not too shabby

You going to crew for me during the SCCA school in Feb?

Yo,

Just ribbin' ya man! *chuckle* Wink mirror huh? Who cares what's behind you?! *grin* Make sure to get the center supports, they have a tendency to wiggle with just the end peices.

So the RA-1's aren't all that? My Toyo rep says they're the greatest thing sinced sliced bread! *grin*

Not grippy enough? I hear they wear real well. What else is out there? Falken Azenis? Yokohama A032R's? Kumhos?

I'm thinking of getting a new set, what's your recommendation? What tire are the other IT guys using?

Hoosier-daddy

Or Kumho

I'd only do Toyo if I wanted long life, which that is very true.. They're grippy, but I'd rather have Hoosiers for max grip.. My wallet likes the Toyos though

A032Rs are too loud, the Azenis is a good street tire but I don't know anyone using them for competition..

the tape is so that if they break the pieces stay together and not fly all over the track.

Kevin,

I love hearing from your track day experiances! You have a way with words that makes me want to go racing...

Reading this and I'm really wanting to get my GTUs off the jackstands. *sigh* I'm still waiting for my transmission rebuild to come back from KD Rotary.

130 track miles that is like 500 road miles

To be an honorary GTUs you have to be dubbed so by Kevin or I

Yeah. At this point in time in my life its just not feasible both time and money wise. I just can’t afford to dump another 2-4 grand into the car just to get it running. So back to N/A for me.
