Turboing an n/a block?

I'm probably gonna get torn apart on this, but here goes I have a s4 na block that has 30k on it with a port from pineapple in my car right now. And I have a chance to get a whole s4 t2 engine with everything including ecu, and fuel pump. Would it be worth it to retro fit the turbo componets on the na block? Such as turbo manifold, oil pan, I have an fmic, injectors and fuel pump with ecu. Could I also use the na dynamic chamber and upper and lower intake manifolds and just take out the 6th ports, and would the t shleeves in the exhaust ports really make a huge difference?

Sorry if I wrote alot I just want to give as much info I could. Thanks to anyone that helps me out.

you'd have to port match the T2 lower intake manifold to the n/a block. swap front covers, and get a oil filter pedestal adapter or the like to run the oil line to the turbo.

that would be the easiest way.

Right from the FAQ:
Can I swap a Turbo engine/Jspec engine/13BT/etc into my Non Turbo?
Yes, check these links:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=26647
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/ro...conversion.htm

What Turbo kits can I add onto my non turbo RX-7?
There are no longer kits formally made at the time of this post, however there are companies from time to time that do make available non turbo to Turbo Kits. Because most of these companies stop building the kits, or go out of business in short time, it is impossible to keep active links for them.

Most people that turbo a non turbo make their own kits:
Using the stock TII turbo, exhaust manifold with spacer, NA intakes and NA ECU:

"Worth it" is a question no one can answer. It depends on your mechanical skill.

Nope, its impossible. An NA engine CANNOT be turbocharged. Ever.

It is possible to turbo charge a n/a engine but it takes alot and only a few people have managed to do it! It would easier to just use the turbo charged engine

In a way that's true. Front mount tucked deep into the bumper, 4 lug wheels, no hood scoop...that's the best way for a turbo NA in my opinion. I love it when other RX-7 owners (few as there are) think my car is another NA with an ostentatious exhaust. A little tap on the fun pedal and it changes their opinion.

It may seem like it now. From searching I found 2005 to be the year of 6 port turbos,
there were at least 4 build up threads from that year. Now its no big deal, especially when all you do is port match the TII intakes, get an oil filter pedestal and a bung on the pan, and steal the coolant lines from the BAC along with the other obvious stuff.

I kinda wish more people documented their conversions with different setups just because 90% of the threads I saw were S4s. It would really help people that don't have machine shop equipment in their garages

I think most would be surprised that I've been running my 6PT for 1000+ miles with just the stock TII sensors and ECU running 8psi. The car looks, sounds and runs like a stock car and is considerably faster than my friend's 330ci that ran a (confirmed) 13.8@98 both from a dig and to a 130mph roll. Funny when considering everyone told me I was going to blow my engine...I do drive the crap out of the car, redlined 4th a few times but haven't been in boost in 5th.

Ok, Khan I am building (by building I mean 6 port turbo, the "right" way) my s5 gxl. I don't have a machine like shops do, I ported the manifold myself. I have pictures. I'm starting to take pictures in the progress.

I will be using the knock sensor but not the boost solenoid. But with a 550/680cc set up. (Just going to put resistors in the line.)

I already have haters saying i'm going to blow my stuff up. But i'll prove them wrong.

So yeah, Khan I'll try to take as much pictures, while doing it. (All tools are basic.) I'll be running stock set up. But enough of me rambling. I'll save it for my build. Should be soon.

That intake manifold is set up already, so you don't have to do any porting.

thanks for all your guys help, and i cant use the t2 block because it snapped a seal and has deep groves in the housings, and intermediate plate. so its basically garbage to me. i was just wondering if anyone has done it before or not. so now im gonna weigh my options, i might just keep it n/a, since it feels so smooth. and think about turbo a little further down the road.
