I completely admit (and have in the original threads) that the downpipe adapter was a complete piece of crap. You try and weld 2MM galvanized steel to cast steel 3 times as thick with a 70A stick welder on 1/16" rods, and then see what kind of comments you make....
The adapter was just a quick fix, stopgap measure so I could connect the turbo to my Bonez SuperFlow cat. It served it's purpose. The new setup is 3" downpipe, splitting to two 2.5" at the Y.

Oh, and just one thing to add. vintagespeed took that picture out of context. If he had quoted the description on my site regarding that adapter:
Clearly I was not interested in making a super-high quality part, and freely admit that in both the original thread and the writeup on my page.
A downpipe adapter was constructed to connect the turbo to the rest of the exhaust system. As you can see from the picture, there is nothing commercially available that would have worked, and a regular TII downpipe would not fit due to interference from the firewall. This downpipe adapter is made from a 90 degree 2.5" steel plumbing elbow, connected via a short piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe to another 2.5" plumbing elbow, this one 45 degrees. At the 90 degree end is the three point exhaust flange for the turbo, and at the 45 degree end there is a two point flange for the rest of the exhaust system (in this case, a Bonez Superflow downpipe and cat). The construction is messy since welding the thin walled exhaust pipe to the thick walled plumbing pipe was very difficult. I kept blowing holes in the thin stuff, so I gave up with being neat and just started piling the weld on there. Regardless of how it looks, the construction is solid and there are no leaks. You will also notice a bolt has been welded onto the 90 degree bend after the turbo. This is the mounting point for the oxygen sensor.

This thread is 3 years old. It was made when I finished the original turbo NA install. It has nothing to do with the status of my current project.

It's quite likely you never received the email because your ISP uses some kind of braindead spam filter...
Regarding the project, I am hoping to post a thread fairly soon. Maybe within a week. There won't be anything groundbreaking in it, but at least it will be an update. I just have to sort through my Revolution pics first.
