The throttle stop screw was set at the factory and really shouldn't have been messed with.

The cam adjusting screw should be set to a mark on the cam at a given temperature.

Normally the fast idle screw wouldn't have to be messed with. But the stop screw has been messed with and most everything else on most of these cars.

When the cam adjusting screw has been set, then you look at the clearance in the thorttle body. It's supposed to be a given opening and if not, then you turn the fast idle screw til the opening/crack b/t the throttle plate and body are right. Somewhere in the FSM it gives the distance. Then there is a fudge factor to deal with.

I forget which way to turn the fast idle screw. If memory serves it's counter intuitive. I might look later. If not that, then I'd go for the exhaust idea. IF not those two, I'd go for the turbo idea.

I think the thread owners outer set of secondary plates are NOT opening when he gets on it, therefore the boost is ...small.

Well some good news Hailers and rxsevn89, I fixed the throttle body. I was looking on another throttle body and noticed a screw that I couldn't see on my throttle body till I looked really hard for it. Well I found it and it was completely backed off. This screw adjusts the cold RPM with the thermo wax. Now I have it set to 1400 RPM's cold. As soon as the car warms up it drops down to 750 like it should. But I haven't been able to take the cat off or do the throttle plate check for my 3000+ problem. I'll maybe get to that tomorrow, but hey, it starts up fine cold and hot now... the rest should be easy to figure out.

Oh and I de-pinned 1R a long time ago. The ECU basically has no idea what a knock sensor is now...

Before you look at the exhaust, do check out the outter secondary throttle plates first. Maybe even just tie them open and go for a ride. Done for the day.
