Turbo question??

Hey guys I am just tryin to get some insight on this turbo that is on my TII. I got the car not to long ago and the previous owner had some turbo work done to it. I have paperwork on it and am tryin to determine how good this turbo is and if I should use it or go with somethin else.. there are very few miles on it. It is an s5 turbo and the paperwork I have is from TEC turbo engineering corp. The only description i have for it is.... Turbo, mazda rx-7 upgrade HT-18 turbin W/V2 comp. The guy paid 990.00 for the upgrade and 150.00 for a core. I am just tryin to get some info about this turbo... is it a good one to run?? I know it is hard to compare diferent stage turbos from dif companies but is it similar to anything else out there. I would be grateful for any info i recieve on this. Thank you guys for taking a look!!!

Well what are you trying to do? What are you goals for the car? Any newly rebuilt or upgraded turbo is going to be "good," so to speak. If you're planning on running an EMS and going up to 300 hp, probably not. If you're going to leave your TII stock and just run a few boltons, you should be fine, just MAKE SURE you buy an FCD for it if you're going to do your exhaust.

Sorry that i did not go over my setup... I am also runnin full racing beat exhaust, front mount, microtech, injectors all the good stuff.... the car already made 301 to the wheels on the dyno. I am just tryin to learn some things about the turbo... and if it is the right turbo for my setup right now. I am just not all that familiar with TEC turbos. Thank you for any and all info!!

T04B V-trim compressor upgrade...
300 at the wheels is just about right for that compressor.

Cool thank you very much for clearing that one up for me Ted... I do appreciate that very much. Thank you for you help. I was just tryin to make sure that nobody out ther had the feelin of "stay away from that turbo" or somethin along those lines. I mean I realize that for the most part there is always a better turbo out there. If anybody has some ill feelings toward this turbo setup just let me know. Once again thank you to all for takin some time to take a look!!!
