Turbo Question

I have a 1988 GXL, and I need to know what has to be done, as far as engine modifications, back-pressure, and cooling, etc. before turbocharging?

If I get a turbo engine then what do I have to do with the drivetrain? What other options do I have?

Is turbocharging my car the only way to get significant power increases? If I kept it N/A, is there any other way to get that power and performance?
