turbo manny on S5 NA? *just curious, I got a deal*
Well..
While changing the fuel lines, and doing the repetitive UIM dismount/remount (several...several times), I was remounting the fuel rail and notice the stud is noticably tight. I shrug it off, and half a turn later... twist... snap.
Mother of all Frito chip fizzack!!!. So.. now my secondary fuel rail is being held on be one mount bolt. Hell no am I going to drive it like that.
So... I need a new UIM, but I found a not too bad of a deal completely (LIM, UIM, +TB) from an t2. The seller doesn't know the year of the manifold though, just that it came from a 13b. I was just curious if its swappable into my n/a. If it was, I would be able to install it, and be able to use reted's fuel rail design.
I can't remember though, I think Reted's was only S4? Anyhow... right now I have an S5 UIM with a fuel rail stud snapped off, and no way (other than the opposite bolt) to secure the secondary fuel rail. I'm not comfortable with thinking that the second bolt will keep gas fom flwing everywhere in the engine bay.
I'm kinda upset though, I just finished the TB mod, and installing several block off plates. Oh well, live and learn.
What are my options for replacing the manifolds?

Drill it and tap it, re-thread it (go up one size if you need too) ... then next time use a torque wrench like your sposed to
Unless this happened while you were taking it off (hard to tell by the wording) then disreguard the torque wrench comment.
