how about buying a t2 engine from some company and juss dropping it into ur n/a.....
would that be ok or will it still cost a lot more then juss buying a t2 and getting the engine rebuilt....
didn't someone do this swap lately, action rt or someone?

that gets you the turbo and intercooler and an engine (that may or may not be in decent shape). you might as well bolt a turbo to the side of your N/A engine for as far as that gets you.

in other words, you still haven't addressed engine control, the rest of the drivetrain, etc.

Hey! It was only one tranny, and that was a tranny that had 250,000 KM on it, with bad bearings, and that happened to be puking fluid...Broke the input shaft real nicely.

The new transmission is in much better shape (no bearing noise, no fluid leaks, syncros nice and sweet) so I expect no problems.

What do the condition of the bearings, or the synchros, or the ability to retain fluid, have anything to do with the physical strength of the input shaft? Or the output shaft? Or the ability for the case to resist spreading apart at high load in 3rd gear, causing the gear teeth to not get full contact and thereby die in short order?
