turbo II sticker removal or replacement, please advise
so I got an 1990 Turbo II a few months ago and have literally fallen in love with it. I embarrass myself by how obsessive I am over it. It was in great condition and only has 74,000 original miles. Needless to say I love this car and understand why so many people love it also.
A few nights ago my friend hit my car while it was parked and dented/scratched the front fender. I have been looking to get it fixed and there are only 3 turbo fenders left in the whole US apparently!!!!anyway I was wondering if anyone know how to get the Turbo II stickers so I can put one on the new fender or does anyone know anyway to remove the sticker. My RX-7 is black so I would need the silver one, which seems impossible to find...I have heard using a blow dryer can make the sticker come off? I am a complete noob at car stuff so the process of blow drying it would help. Come through for me guys! Thank you for any advice!

Congrats on the "new" car. For a replacement sticker, try Mazdatrix.com. They are not cheap, BTW.
To remove the old sticker, use a hair dryer sparingly to heat one end of the sticker and use a plastic scraper to carefully lift the decal. Work your way along the decal using the same technique and you will eventually get it off. Use something like GooGone to remove the sticky stuff and then alcohol or paint prep to remove the GooGone.
Post a Wanted to Buy in the classified section of this forum to find a fender.
Good luck!

thank you for the advice. I went to both Mazdatrix and dragonautos and it appeared that they only had the Red Turbo II sticker and that the silver one was not available. If I am wrong, please correct me. Thanks again, i'll try to get the sticker off but im afraid i'm going to mess it up. I would love to just buy a new one but I guess thats what happens when you buy a 20 year old car...

There's nothing unique about the fenders on a Turbo II vs. any other FC. You will want to remove the plastic cladding from the bottom of your fender and transfer it onto the new fender because only the S5 Turbos had the fender skirts. Other than that, any used fender can be painted to match your car. Get a rust-free used fender in the classifieds from somebody parting out a car. Or have yours straightened and repainted if the damage isn't too severe.

thank you for all the advice so far, I really appreciate it.
2 Questions:
First, I looked at the Atkins Rotary Turbo II stickers and they appear to be the same but I was just curious if they are original or did they make them knowing that they were rare? I don't mind either way really but I was just curious.
Second, depending on if the Atkins Rotary stickers look similar, I might or might not attempt to pull off the old stickers. If I did what would y'all use to re-glue them to the car?
Again thank you for the advice, joining this site was the smartest thing I've ever done, related to a car of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get them off in one piece using a heat gun (or blow dryer). The hard part would be removing all the old adhesive from them without damaging them, then finding some new adhesive you could apply to them to get them back on the fender smoothly. You might be able to use something like mineral spirits to strip off the old adhesive, but then I'd bet the plastic decal would tend to curl and it would be very hard to get it back on without trapping dust, even if you could find the right adhesive...
Maybe you should check on some muscle car forums for suggestions. A lot of those cars had decals on them from the factory, and some of the more obscure ones have probably become irreplacable assuming they aren't being reproduced.
Are you hoping to save this particular decal to preserve the originality of your car? Because at $17.50, those Atkins ones seem like a pretty good deal.

I would prefer to keep it as original as possible but it looks like that might be a big headache to do. I went ahead and ordered the Atkins one to compare and see if their Turbo II is similar to the original one. Since I am not planning on reselling it I guess it doesn't matter but I just would like to keep it original.

you cant reuse the decal
I am sure atkins has a local sign shop make them, its not exactly a hard decal to duplicate.
If you do get a non-turbo fender the only thing you will have to do is either drill it for the skirt or try adhesives to hold the skirt on
good luck with the car, sounds nice!

However I believe if something is not functioning properly, I'd rather replace a part than keep it in place to preserve originality. I'm in the process of replacing all my hoses and such with OEM Mazda parts. It makes me a little sad to be removing some of the originality, but I want to drive the car and enjoy it and ancient rubber parts can always fail.
