Turbo gone???
I removed the TID from the turbo to check for endplay, and found every other compressor fin damaged (bent or chewed apart). There was minimal endplay and it spun freely. I need to know how long the turbos got, and if it could have caused any internal engine damage? do the fins being damaged have any affect on MPG, as well as performance wise.

Does it look as bad as this guy's? Do you have any pics?
Regardless, I'm with dr0x, I wouldn't run it that way. I would be extremely concerned about the reason behind it.
The every other fin thing seems odd though. You're sure it was "damaged" & not made that way?

It doesn't seem out of balance, as theres hardly any freeplay. Its the stock turbo on an 88 tII, I m hoping it wasnt made that way? it looks like that guys, but oddly its every other fin?? could severe engine damage occur from the pieces breaking off and entering the intake/engine.

It wouldn't feel out of balance, just remember that its spinning at around 60k rpms, so if the weight isn't distributed evenly, it will wobble and wear quickly. and yes, it would be very bad to have pieces break off and enter the engine
