Question turbo exhaust insert swap into NA housing

okay so I have NA housing and I have turbo inserts and I got the pins out (PITA) of the NA housings and the turbo inserts are ready to go in (after porting)

but when you remove the inserts there is this ring that sits behind the insert and the turbo inserts do not fit with this in.

so I have 2 options:

not use the ring

grind the ring down/find turbo ring

I know this has been done before, what did you guys do about this?

I ground down my turbo rings to get them to fit. But I believe you can pull out the N/A sleeves that are stuck in your housing and then just pop the turbo ones in.

the turbo ones fit just fine in my NA housings, just not with the NA rings.

turbo insert + NA housing = fit

turbo insert + NA housing + NA insert ring = no fit

so just say **** it to the ring and install the roll pins and call it a day?

I have heard of people doing that. If the turbo sleeve fits all the way in there, as in no giant gaps, and you can put roll pins in there then do it.
