Ted & Zach you guys are great.
I've got about $800 to spend from my tax return, plus anything I make on my paychecks from work. So far, Ted, I like the sound of the 60-1.

This is a common upgrade for 2nd gen TII RX-7s. they can do up to ~350RWHP. But there are alot of variables in this.

pretend he has a solid engine, clutch, tranny, rad, etc... then he's looking at $1000 for a turbo, $1100 for haltech, $1000 for intercooler, plus probably another $1-2000 for labour and tuning/dyno time depending on how handy he is.
That would be my guess.
Like others have suggested, you might as well buy them in logical order, not cost order. Logically... get the brain first - the haltech. Thats also probably the most expensive to buy, install and tune. without the brain you can't make use of the rest of the parts. You'll also very likely see a HP increase just by putting that on and having it tuned properly. Then do the fuel upgrade, then the intercooler upgrade, THEN the turbo. buying it in reverse order will only leave you with parts on a shelf that you can't install yet. and if you install a turbo without doing anything else you'll probably find yourself porting a new engine.

Does anyone know any good places on the internet to find a turbo for a good price, I've checked the for sale forum on are board and the partstrader when it works.

Why was a hybrid turbo not suggested? I am in the middle of installing a Haltech, injectors, clutch, new engine, hybrid turbo(60-1 cold side, stock hot side), BOV, radiator, gauges, etc. I have heard good things about the 60-1 hybrid. Also it will make 400BHP, but spool up just as fast (maybe slightly slower) as the stock turbo.
This is what you want, correct? Fast spool up and good power?
I also agree that you need to buy things in reverse order. You cannot just purchase the turbo and strap it onto your car, you must have all the pieces first. And a haltech is a great first piece, but a lot of work, as I am discovering.

Personally I think that a good Hybrid or the TD-06 will work better for most street applications. Looking at the compressor maps a T04E flows more air than say a H3 wheel from turbonetics but not a signigigant amount and a T04E compressor requires higher boost to meet its peak efficiency. The TD-06 also has better numbers at lower boost settings.
The TO4E is a good turbine and widely used but for a better tourque curve I would choose a TD-0625GSH good low end response and capable of over 400HP.

TD-06/25G would work really well. Good spool up and a fairly decent amount of hp.
My Favorite would be the t-04S. Best hp for UNDER 1.0 kilo's boost.
For all of you who put t3/t4 turbine's....you BETTER be talking about TWIN t3/t4 turbine's.

to4s into fc t2
will a t04s bolt on to the stock manifold. i have one layin around in my garage. i know i should use like an hks manifold . but i guess my real question is will it fit into the stock manifold. since ive been previously told that some t4's share the same foot print as the stock turbo https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...&postid=691203

I'm going to have to go with Ted on that. The stock manifold is funky shaped as I'm sure you've noticed. To the best of my knowledge there aren't any To4 type turbo that will bolt straight up.
For anyone who cares, I decided to go with a 60-1for my car, its .55 front and 1.32 rear A/R. Pictures can be seen here http://www.devilmotorsports.com/rtr/...hris/chris.htm I'd glad someone brough this post back to life.

Jspecracer7: the turbo came like that, it was used for a month on his honda but he wasn't happy with it, my guess why to f'n big for a honda. Besides, it is only a month old and I only paid $565 shipped
rayndogg: As for turbo ideas I suggest you read the first two pages of this post, or as Stamps would say "SEARCH!" There is not going to be hardly anyturbo upgrades that want take some type of tortuous work. As for fuel, what you have want be enough for a large turbo. Again, I see your new to the board so I will suggest you check the Single Turbo section of the forum more info on that stuff. At the bottom of the page there is a "search in forum' option that will let you search just in the single turbo area.

I have the T04E and I have pushed it to 372rwhp.
I will be changing to twin GT28's in about 1 month or so if things go as planned...
and will be selling the T04E / manifold / down pipe / mid pipe/ GReddy FMIC / wastegate / apexi bov to help pay for my new turbos and FMIC and stuff.....

I have a Greddy TD06 20G. This is the only turbo I have ever played with besides the stock HT18.
Maybe something wrong on my DSBC setting but I feel this thing spool up alot slower than stock.
Can anyone put up a side by side comparison for TD06, some T04s and Apexi RX?
