Go over to nopistons.com and talk to Judge ITO. Youll get better information from him than probably anyone here (no offense to anyone reading).

I can also help you with this but am only willing to do so if you're serious. Honestly, I get this atleast once or twice a day: "What does it take to make 400 or 500rwhp?" 90% of these guys have absolutely no clue what is involved and they've never even gotten close to it prior. Is this you? If it isn't, PM me and we'll talk.

T04B 60-1/T04E-60/T04S04/TS04/T04S will all get you 400hp.
T66 for 500hp.
T72 for 600hp.
These are hp numbers to the WHEELS.

I dunno about you, but anything over 400hp to the wheels (that's like 500hp at the crank!) is a handful of power under your right foot!

I'm not reading them now.

Anything larger over the T66, you take a chance of inducing lag due to the sheer size of the turbo.&nbsp This means race-only application, or liberal uses of NOS to get the turbo spinning...

Well, thats why i, well sort of, changed my mind. Im looking at all of the T04 series (B,E,S, and R) and T4 turbos. Im not looking at the T66, and def not the T51R (too much lag)

Only the biggest T04B (i.e. 60-1, 62-1) and the biggest T04E (60 trim) is worth looking at.&nbsp Everything else is really too small.

A T04S is just a T04S04/TS04 - they are all the same thing.&nbsp The TS04 makes just about the same power as a 60-1 or T04E-60, but it has better efficiency at higher boost levels (above 15psi).&nbsp The 60-1/T04E-60 will make slightly more power under 15psi.

A T04R is a proprietary HKS design.&nbsp A new HKS T04R is still big money.

A T51 is way overkill for a street car.

BTW, I got no PM.

sorry, the PM was to BDC, it was an accidental post under yours. My mistake, sorry. And, i agree now that the T51R would be too much. I also agree with the T04E being a good turbo to use.

anyone else have anymore idaeas? if you would like to know what setup i plan on running (other than the turbo which is not decided on yet) heres an idea:
T04E, or TO4R turbo (any suggestions ??????)
1986 GXL body (i know, lots to convert, im well aware)
1987 turbo 2 engine
1987 GTR(turbo 2) low compression rotors (8.5:1)
Custom Street port (large), ported exaust ports
2 piece 2mm apex seals
Ported FD intake/throttle body
Custom Fuel rail to fit 1000 primary/1600secondaries
Custom exaust manifold for turbo (still deciding, but lets say top T04B)
HKS super sequential BOV, and HKS external wastegate
3 core R34 skyline GTR FMIC (although contemplating a V-mount style intercooler setup)
Aluminum Radiator
F.A.L 16" electric fan
FD alternator
Custom DP leading to full 3 in exaust (single) to apexi N1
Plugged P/S (no manual rack, but no power steering assembly)
Removed A/C
All stainless steel lines (oil cooler, brakes, etc)
dual walbro fuel pumps
Lightweight flywheel
Twin plate clutch
LSD (undecided brand)
(still thinking about tranny, might go with HKS dogmission)
Microtech LTX12 EMS
Boost controller (undecided)
Possible STACK gauge cluster & other gauges as needed
MSD ignition packs
Battery relocated to rear
Emissions removed
solder all electronics

This doesnt include any body mods and such. I would appreciate any help on deciding what to choose. Thank you

T88 i think would be too big, give too much lag. How much consistant power do you guys think can be acheived with a T04E (dont know P or Q trim) at say 10-15 psi, as well as high boost; 20+psi and at what RPM do you think the power will start to die down at the given boost level?

I am looking for maybe the same turbo you are looking for. I want 475 to the wheels, while hopefully staying around 20psi or so. I really was hoping a T04 could get that for me.

Hmmmm...10psi-15psi is a large spread.&nbsp A T04E-60 would put out about 330hp to the wheels at around those boost levels.&nbsp At 20psi, the T04E-60 should be putting close to, if not over, 400hp to the wheels.

Power band is dictate by turbine A/R - something you've not told us yet.
